The Oregon Culinary Institute, a division of Pioneer Pacific College, is pleased to announce a partnership with the International Sommelier Guild to bring professional wine classes to Portland. Beginning on September 17, 2006, the ISG will offer Wine Fundamentals Certificates levels 1 & 2 and a Sommelier Diploma Program at the Oregon Culinary Institute facilities.

Wine Fundamentals 1 is a 24 clock hour program that is designed for the novice wine enthusiast and runs one day a week. Wine Fundamentals 2 is a 48 clock hour program, also running once a week, that builds on the knowledge gained from WF1. Both are required to enter into the Sommelier Diploma Program. The Sommelier Diploma program is an intensive 6 month program held once a week that is designed to be the defining benchmark for wine knowledge in the hospitality industry. ISG is the only professional body that accredits Sommeliers by direct instruction.
