Our Paradise

COME TO SCHOOL IN PARADISE. We're located in Portland, Oregon, consistently voted one of the most liveable cities in the U.S. It is also often referred to as one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the United States, a cause that Oregon Culinary Institute honors and embraces.

Portland is also a food and restaurant mecca. It is the hub of one of the freshest, most varied and exciting food regions in the United States. For Portland restaurateurs, the state is their pantry. Foods here are plentiful and only an hour or two from their source to the kitchen. From Pacific Ocean Dungeness crab, wild-caught Chinook salmon, and Yaquina Bay oysters to specialty meats and game, cheeses, heirloom tomatoes, and Hood River apples and pears, the food and its preparation have caught the eye of the world's gourmets. Oregon led the microbrew revolution. And it produces some of the finest wines—particularly Pinot Noir—in the world.

At Oregon Culinary Institute, we celebrate this paradise. We serve and support local, seasonal and sustainable produce, meats and cheeses—partnering with many local farms and dairies to use as many Northwest products as possible.
